Posture is often taken for granted by the able bodied. But without our posture, we would find it practically impossible to function in our lives and relate to others. What if we couldn’t lift our head? What if the muscles in our spine were too weak to support our trunk or would fire involuntarily, pulling us over? How could we meet another’s gaze, move about, feed ourselves, play, and have hobbies? There are many people in British Columbia who are severely impacted by a wide variety of posture problems, the solution to which is just as unique as the individuals themselves.
Custom seating uses a variety of step-by-step processes to design and build posture supports (primarily in the form of wheelchair seat cushions and backrests) which enable individuals impacted by conditions such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, and motor vehicle accidents, to sit up straight, and face the world head on.
Our clients often have complex daily care plans which make it challenging to travel. That’s why we work on-site at a client’s home.

Each custom seating system is tailored to the individual client. These seating systems may either correct posture or simply accommodate an individual’s body in the most comfortable state possible.
